Job Description

The Project Manager has the overall responsibility for the successful planning and execution of projects for IT. The Project Manager will work closely with the delivery services, infrastructure, governance and security teams, the business partners, and vendors to define, develop, and execute deployment of their assigned projects. The Project Manager ensures that the deployment of projects to the production environment follow the project life cycle methodology and successfully meets the business goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the Delivery Services, Infrastructure, and Governance and Security teams, business partners, and Vendors to manage all aspects of the software development lifecycle and project implementation and provide continuous improvement to the Project Lifecycle Methodology.
  • Responsible for planning, executing and controlling the development and delivery of IT projects.
  • Responsible for the management of the project including; work statements, work breakdown structures, developing and tracking budget and schedule, tracking individual project tasks, providing risk analysis, tracking and resolving issues and action items, requirements gathering, quality assurance, providing various project management visibility and control measures and reports as needed and communicating to project team and stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with management, IT teams, business users, and vendors to monitor and lead the analysis, design, development, deployment, and training phases of solutions within the IT environment.
  • Drive the desired business value-added results by aligning all technology investments with appropriate priorities based upon the IT strategic plan.
  • Establish partner excellence by providing excellent service and deploying successful projects which meet and exceed the business goals.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications:

    Job Requirements:

      EDUCATION: High school degree or GED is required. Associate’s degree (AA) is required in MIS, IT or Business. Bachelor’s degree is preferred in MIS, IT or Business. Other: Knowledge of Business Process Mapping, Requirements Gathering, Project LCM.

      CERTIFICATION: Project Management Certification (Highly desired)

      EXPERIENCE: 3-5 Years Experience preferred in a Project Management or Project Leadership role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
