Job Description
The Logistics Unit Manager is responsible for third party vendor return logistics relationships. This position is responsible for the management of all return center operations including but not limited to productivity, return goods flow, administration, and all return center processes. Manages third party return logistics relationships. Conducts complex system studies for improvement to logistical processes involved in the return to vendor system.
Job Duties/Responsibilities: • Responsible for the management of third party logistic centers  providing daily contact with Director to  ensure contract compliance in the areas of quality, service, cost, and staff • Defines operational procedures for the returns process and recommends updates/changes to the operations manual for third party vendor as needed to ensure consistent application • Conducts long-term and complex logistic studies throughout the return supply chain, Gathers data, determines methodology, analyses data, and assists in implementing findings in order to maintain efficient operations • Manages filed staff in order assist store operations and district managers in issue/problem resolution regarding merchandise return • Meets with appropriate store district and vendor relations managers to:  gather data, address issues, resolve problems, and report on return logistics related findings in order to inform management • Defines software changes and ensuring that the company and third party vendor systems are functioning properly according to desired results/guidelines • Provide input in order to establish yearly budget for entire return center operations • Manage day to day field operations to ensure departmental and corporate objectives are met • Monitor and evaluate key performance metrics for third party return centers in order to ensure profits are maximized for all return merchandise Job Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or Logistics • Minimum of 5 years logistics, returns, store operations, vendor relations, or manufacturing experience • Strong knowledge of various software systems • Good knowledge of distribution center, transportation, third party logistics operations, and logistics planning practices and procedures • Strong organizational, administrative, managerial, and communication skills • Above average analytical ability to gather and interpret data, conduct analyses, and develop and make recommendations • Ability to interface with senior management teams
