Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY: The Director provides business strategy support to Sears Holdings Apparel Design Organization, supporting the Executive Vice President, Design and the design team. The Director is accountable for partnering with the business leaders to develop and implement programs and initiatives that support the strategic goals of the business; including new business growth concepts designed to increase market share, productivity while driving incremental profit. The Director provides leadership and oversight of cross-functional teams to ensure each team has the resources, direction and focus to achieve its goals. The Director is responsible for delivering regular updates and milestone tracking for the implementation of initiatives to the Senior Management team. In addition, the Director will be accountable for identifying issues and escalating them as appropriate to the Senior Management team
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: • Development and Measurement of key operating metrics such, including designer productivity metrics, design acceptance rates, import penetration, etc. • Develop long-term financial targets for direct sourcing & design with key financial metrics, key milestone dates, and necessary support requirements to achieve goals. • Manage all invoicing and accounting issues from vendors, print houses, building services, etc. • Overhead management and controls, including annual planning process, monthly forecasting process, and key variance exception reporting. • Provide financial leadership for integration of Sears and Kmart design organizations • Ad hoc financial analysis • Partner with the business leaders to develop and implement programs and initiatives to increase the market share and profitability of business • Lead cross functional teams on operations planning, data management and milestone tracking for the implementation of strategic initiatives. • Coordinate communication and ensure it is streamlined with the cross functional teams, stakeholders and Senior Management team as it relates to all projects and initiatives. • Conduct research on various strategic initiatives, create and present business plans and overall strategy for all initiatives. • Develop and execute action plans for the development of new business lines. • Develop multiple tools to analyze and adequately evaluate business performance. • Capture key learnings from all initiative deployments and translate them into information that can be leveraged across the business and SHC. • Position is based in New York, location for Sears Holdings Apparel Design Organization. • Finance undergraduate degree; MBA preferred • Strong financial, analytical and business strategy skills • Communication and presentation skills • Retail experience preferred • Planning and forecasting experience preferred • Experience with Essbase and Makoro a plus • Must have the ability to work in a high-paced environment
