Scope of position:
In this key leadership position, provide Strategic planning, Thought Leadership and Operational Excellence around the design and delivery of global infrastructure services utilized for secure and reliable communications among employees, partners and customers.

Assist the organization in providing a competitive advantage for the global business by delivering:
- A highly available, performance focused, secure environment
- Enable the business through efficient, life cycle management in a fiscally responsible manner
- Manage technology risk, while improving environmental performance, employee productivity and customer experience

Duties and responsibilities include:
Collaborates with Lines of business to assess business challenges, craft solutions to complex problems and mobilize the organization to execute a plan of action, through the effective use of resources, technology and funding. Leads a large global organization, responsible for the design, implementation, sustainment, and optimization of a highly complex system(s) and/or project(s) supporting a business and/or technology area.

Specifically this person will be accountable for:
- Direct management of a global organization focused on critical infrastructure (networking, infrastructure security, telecom)
- Mentor, coach, manage and develop top talent across the organization
- Provide Vendor & Carrier management, with multiple outsourced partner relationships
- Provide strategic direction, coaching and mentoring of supervisory staff
- Develop, communicate, and deploy a concise technology vision aligned to the business strategy
- Drive architecture, technical and all sourcing aspects of the solution delivery organization
- Advance IT innovation that creates business value within the organization
- IT functional/departmental objectives and financial transparency and key measurements of success
- Strong project management, service management and problem solving capabilities
- Provide visible leadership to the technology and business community
- Forecasts financial, physical, and human resource needs to meet established objectives
- Work with Production Support to troubleshoot high impact incidents and problems
- Establish technical standards and ensure adherence to them for product development and company operations.
- Ensure all internal and vendor service levels are met
- Lead the organizations towards new business relevant solutions that drive enhanced value
- Present findings, updates and recommendations to all levels of management, up to and including C level executives
- Gaining industry experience and exposure to seed new ideas with respect to the companies best interests

Experience/Qualifications include:
- Technology Environments covered by the position include: High Speed Core Network, Global Wide Area Network, Data Center Fabric, Remote/Campus Offices, Internet/DMZ, Extranet, Remote/Mobile Access, Wireless Mobility
- Extensive knowledge of the following technologies, products and services:
* Telecommunications (MPLS WANs, Optical Networks, ISPs, CDNs, Managed Services, SLAs, Cellular/Wireless)
* Networking (LAN, WLAN, Data Center Fabrics, Ethernet Switching, Routing, BGP, OSPF, QoS, VoIP, SDN, IPv6, Traffic Profiling, Anomaly Detection, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Continuous Availability, High Availability)
* Infrastructure and Perimeter Security (Load Balancers, SSL Termination, Stateful/Stateless Firewall, Application layer firewalls, SOA/XML security gateways, Intrusion Prevention/Detection Systems, Secure File Transfer, Remote Access, Wireless Security, VPNs, Email/SMTP, Email Security, Log management, Access Control, Administrative Access)
- Experience leading global organizations, driving operational excellence and providing financial analysis/modeling
- Ample experience leading change and developing mature operating practices (process, policy, agreements, standards)
- 10 or more years of related experience (Networking, Security, Telecom, Service Provider)
- 5 or more years of leadership experience in managing multiple, cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technology and market trends as a foundation for technology and product roadmaps
- Able to multitask and operation under tight timelines and remain focused under pressure (ex. critical outage/disaster)
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, writing and communication skills
- Emphasis on customer focus, collaboration and follow-up skills necessary
- Previous insurance or financial services experience in mid to senior level management desired
