SUMMARY:
This position is the primary point of accountability for the management and implementation of multiple, large eBusiness Programs/Projects. This position may also manage and oversee projects as part our Corporate and Shared Systems Program Management Office (PMO) with typical activities such as the deployment and socialization of Project Management standards, methods, tools, metrics, etc. These efforts can involve significant risk and complexity, large numbers of resources, complex organizational change issues and support achievement of enterprise and/or strategic corporate goals.

Responsibilities include:
- Control planning and execution of the Project/Program activities and resources to ensure that established cost, time, and quality goals are met.
-Work with minimal supervision and is responsible for applying advanced Project Management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to Project deliverables, processes and systems in order to meet or exceed stakeholder needs and expectations.
- Operate within defined parameters using a proven Project Management Methodology with flexibility to merge different methodologies in accomplishing collective goals.
- Manage team development; very active in the mentoring of members of the PM community; may have direct management responsibility of PMs.
- Charged with mid-Project recovery of at risk Projects.
- May recommend rescoping, postponement or cancellation as needed.
- Provide substantive feedback to organizational learnings regarding improving Project Management execution.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Requires a minimum of seven years of Project Management or equivalent experience in the total -Project life cycle with increasing levels of complexity, including supervisory experience.
- Strong, formal Risk Management experience required.
- Experience implementing Enterprise eBusiness systems required
- Experience implementing Enterprise ePayment systems desired
- Experience with vendor products from RFP to implementation required
- Experience managing and working with Professional Service Organizations required

- The ability to confidently lead cross functional and cross line of business areas.
- Experience managing projects across disciplines and navigating differences of opinion while bringing everyone to common ground to move the project forward.

Influencing skills:
- Demonstrated ability to influence without formal authority.

Risk Management:
- Proven experience facilitating cross functional teams to identify eBusiness and project related risks and manage them competently and proactively.

Builds synergies/strong working relationships:
- Proven success working in political environments bringing cross functional subject matter experts and leaders together to create a high performing team.
- Demonstrated success relating to all levels within the project team, upper management as well as being capable of relating and working with developers and vendor resources on the team.
- Experienced bringing small groups together within their functional responsibilities then bring these smaller functional areas up to a complete project team and have them all working together efficiently with good communications between them to mitigate rework and confusion

Able to function within ambiguity:
- This is a new endeavor for the project team and the product will be new to the Travelers organization. The candidate will have demonstrated success leading, gaining the team's trust and motivating the team to be high performing without having a precise road map.

Demonstrated credibility:
- Proven experience at this level with examples of success and failures leading efforts this size with these types of complexities. The candidate should be able to site specific examples of their leadership and strengths within the above competencies. The candidate should have references that support their claims as well.
