Job Description
Position responsible for establishing and managing the processes, policies and procedures of the Procurement organization in order to improve performance in the areas of supply base design, supplier management, contract management, spend management and organizational key performance metrics. Manage Procurement tools and technology necessary to drive Procurement strategies and the reporting of Procurement key performance metrics. Work with functional areas outside Procurement such as Finance, IT, Legal, Accounts Payable and Quality. • Lead the development, documentation and communication of Morton Salt’s Procurement processes, policies and procedures. Liaison with Morton Salt parent (K+S) as required. • Identify, design and maintain procurement technology in alignment with procurement best practices including e-Sourcing, Contract Management, and Knowledge Management tools • Ensure alignment with financial requirements for the reporting of procurement results by coordinating, monitoring and reporting of organization’s performance results. • Drive and ensure continuous improvement of Procurement processes and associated compliance and adoption. • Oversee and manage the administration of Morton Salt’s Commercial Card programs including company-wide Procurement and Travel & Entertainment cards to include analysis of controls and program refinements. • Introduce innovative techniques designed as resource tools for driving organizational effectiveness. • Recommend and implement multi-tiered professional training and development programs aimed at elevating the category know-how, and other planning and execution competencies for procurement professionals • Build and improve the procurement capability through processes, policies/procedure and technology training and performance measures. • Oversee and manage the Procurement contract administration process for all Morton Salt contracts. • Lead the development and management of supplier quality and certification programs. • Lead the identification, collection, analysis, and dissemination and implementation of relevant industry and procurement benchmarks/best practices and business intelligence. • Lead, manage and develop direct reports. Demonstrated Procurement leadership experience or experience in related operational fields. Must be knowledgeable in procurement processes and have a strong project management background. Excellent communicator with proven ability to manage and work across functions and borders. Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience with a focus on process excellence Bachelor’s Degree Required, Advanced degree (MBA) preferred Strong Process Improvement knowledge (Six Sigma, Lean) Strong financial skills and sound knowledge of KPI reporting and performance tracking required Sound knowledge of procurement tools and processes SAP knowledge and expertise preferred *cb
