Working under broad objectives, the Software Architect Senior is a high level architect, responsible for leading the design and development of highly complex software systems and applications. This position focuses on multiple platforms, takes a wholistic approach to project leadership, incorporates current and future business trends and conditions into designs and creates best industry practices. This position is technically strategic, operates with an understanding of the business roadmap and is forward looking at technologies and market/industry trends. The Software Architect Senior level exercises a strong scope of influence across multiple platforms with far reaching, long term impact, understanding how the complex, multiple pieces fit together. Drives technical leadership on a development team, and has the expertise to work on virtually all phases of application development. This position, in partnership with business partners/product owners, gathers information, analyzes needs and drives results, guiding clients to determine feasibility and functionality of client requests. Essential Functions/Responsibilities Design, code, test and debug complex software while developing new functionality, and enhancing existing functionality, providing leadership to guide customers and satisfy their requirements, both internal and external. Design work encompasses a broad project/platform scope. Work is derived from broad objectives. Work includes developing detailed specifications from which broad based applications will be written, designed, coded, tested and debugged. Consult with and advise product owners/business partners to define requirements and software design. Partner with Product Management and System Engineering, evaluating feasibility and driving development plan and direction. Factor business roadmap and ROI into planning and development, coordinating between multiple functional groups. Provide strategic vision. Explore, research and implement new and alternate technologies and platforms. Develop best practices. Evaluate, recommend and apply these alternate/new technologies/ best practices, disseminating information throughout the team/department. Document large and complex assignments for knowledge transfer and develop expertise in multiple areas. Mentor other team members on areas of expertise. Provide technical expertise on a wide range of systems/projects/platforms. Supervisory/lead responsibilities: This position may have direct reports with full supervisory responsibility or be in a project lead role, assigning work to team members. Supervisory responsibilities include the authority to hire/fire, write and deliver performance reviews, monitor workflow and assign duties, technical mentoring, etc. Vendor interaction: Gather and request information from vendors about their products to ensure compatibility. Investigate how vendor services support CoreLogic services, considering strategy, business value and ROI. Evaluate services of different vendors. Define scope and develop testing methods, collaborating with QA team and other developers. Work with QA team to improve all levels of testing efforts, developing and enhancing testing methods and processes that span across products/platforms/systems. Support, maintain and document software functionality. Influence documentation process and methods. Provide operational support on complex, far reaching and long term issues to diagnose and resolve incidents in production systems. Incidents are fewer but more complex, requiring analysis of issues, determination of additional resources to resolve the issue and an in-depth system perspective.Education Bachelor's degree preferred Experience Ten plus years experience in an applicable software development environment Knowledge/Skills Able to create, drive and complete POCs (Proof of Concepts) to test new ideas and apply emerging technologies Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional to work on all phases of development within broadly assigned technical discipline Able to translate conceptual ideas into complex projects and tasks Able to translate complex business needs to technical requirements Driven to excel in multiple areas of technical expertise and expand base of knowledge Business acumen to determine feasibility of customer requests and balance business decisions with technology development Customer oriented: meets individual commitments, works with the team to achieve team commitments, responds to requests in a timely manner, willing to help Supervisory, coaching and teaching skills to lead and/or supervise direct reports Fluent and current on architecture trends with an eye on market/technical conditions and future direction CoreLogic offers an empowered work environment that encourages creativity, initiative and professional growth and provides a competitive salary and benefits package.
