The Senior Business Systems Analyst reviews, analyzes and evaluates business systems, processes and user needs. Conducts preliminary project reviews with internal customers to determine scope and need for project prioritization. Performs and participates in the analysis, design and implementation of business systems following appropriate standards and requirement gathering. The BSA acts as a liaison with business unit management and staff to improve processes or systems. Essential Functions/Responsibilities Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs. Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions and use cases. Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: functional requirements, technical requirements, business requirements document, use cases or user stories. Create GUI screens and interface designs. Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously. Challenge business units on assumptions to ensure that the requested functionality will deliver the expected results. Act as the liaison among stakeholders to encourage innovation for process improvements and system enhancements that result in increased automation, productivity, satisfaction and data consistency. Ensure documentation of process improvements and business requirements for system enhancements are complete and proper approvals are obtained. Communicate with other business analysts to understand interdependencies of all projects. Work with Development and QA throughout the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Agile experience preferred. Prepare written responses to user requests for enhancements and other customer follow up requests in a timely manner. Review and approve system changes prior to being turned over to production. Work with the business to ensure UAT test scripts are complete and approved. Act as an escalation contact for ongoing production support and trouble-shooting on current production systems. Participate in production system roll out planning which may include training and documentation. Serve as a mentor to less experienced business systems analysts. Interface with onshore and offshore resources on a daily basis to clarify requirements, coordinate QA testing, provide an escalation point, obtain status information and communicate requirements-related information.Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business Administration preferred Experience Four plus years of business systems analysis experience required including requirements gathering, analysis, systems design and documentation Knowledge/Skills Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills effectively translating systems concepts to a business audience and vice versa Confident interpersonal style with internal and external business contacts UML and use case, user story experience preferred Complex technical analysis and design experience Software Beta testing experience a plus Effective working with a team as well as independently Strong time management and ability to manage multiple priorities Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Visio, SQL and SSIS Experience in Waterfall, Agile or other forms of iterative software development Flexibility in work hours in order to effectively communicate with onshore, near shore and offshore resources in various time zones CoreLogic offers an empowered work environment that encourages creativity, initiative and professional growth and provides a competitive salary and benefits package.
