The Category Manager for Mygofer.com Food and Grocery is responsible managing a P&L specific to Food and Grocery in the Online Business Unit. The online merchant Category Manager role is responsible for the Mygofer.com Grocery businesses. In this role, the Category Manager will work with product managers to create a best-in-class site experience that maximizes conversion and customer satisfaction. For this position, we are seeking strong leaders who have experience growing businesses. Additionally, the Category Manager and the team will also work with the online marketing team to ensure they meet and exceed the customer visits and retention goals for home and drive repeat business while focusing on ROI and ROAS.

The key focus for the Category Manager and team will be to ensure profitable growth in the vertical as well as offer relevant/personalized dynamic experience to help drive conversion. The Category Manager will ensure we carry a large assortment of products and brands that customers want most, be the first to market new products and offer pre-sells and create compelling offers for our customers and ShopYourWay members. The Category Manager must also drive average order value, while maximizing profit by creating and implementing a specific strategy for their vertical centered around dynamic cross-sells and up-sells. The DMM will also work to create and manage an online promotional calendar that is center around the maximization of profit.

The Category Manager will also be responsible for developing a pricing strategy for their verticals particularly for items that are not carried in the stores. The pricing strategy will need to be executed through pricing algorithms and dynamic pricing functionality.

This position reports to the General Manager of the Mygofer.com business and has responsibility for primarily growing our online food and grocery business through: 1) Online Merchandising Operations, (2) Strategy Execution, and 3) Product selection and optimization, and 4) utilizing all marketing channels.

Responsibilities
• Meets or exceeds sales and profit plan each month for category of responsibility. Manages team of managers and support associates to not only drive sales and profit each month, but to creating lasting and meaningful customer relationships each day.
• Develops daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly selling strategy that includes, but is not limited to, promotional events, optimization of internal search, bundling/up-sell strategies, trigger emails, pre-sells and leveraging SHCs multichannel capabilities.
• Manages weekly forecasts across channels to ensure plans are being met. Anticipates market/business trends and develops a plan for response Creates gap/contingency plans when needed.
• Facilitates traffic driving strategies including SEM, SEO, Affiliates, and Email.
• Understands online and store retailing competitors strengths, weaknesses and strategies, and develops effective counter strategies and plans to build sears.com into a premier destination.
• Identifies assortment and pricing gaps with both full-line store partners and other platform sellers to meet financial goals. Additionally uses customer data to help develop merchandising strategy. Seeks out new platform sellers to fill identified voids.
• Optimize sears.com and kmart.com to best sell products online. Drives features and functionalities to most effectively sell products online. Must also ensure product content is ideal for selling. Drives strategy to ensure products have optimized content and photographs.
• Manages, mentors, and challenges a team of associates to meet online goals. Coaches and develops team to ensure growth and readiness for next level position. Ensure the team is focused on the right opportunities each day.
• Establishes and maintains effective relationships with his/her peers within the Online Business Unit, across the SHC organization, and with external platform sellers.
• Drive and champion online automation.

Skill/Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university; or four years related experience and/ or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA preferred.
• Prior P&L responsibility.
• Very strong analytical skills.
• Working knowledge of ecommerce metrics and tools required.
• Ability to effectively work in an environment where accountability and transparency drive the culture.
• Experience in ecommerce or direct selling is desirable.
• Ability to influence others who do not have direct accountability to you.
• Strong presentation skills. Must feel comfortable and be effective when presenting to SHC executives. Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Must thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
