Job Description

Work with the external customer and CoreLogic Dorado analysts and architects to understand business requirements and ensure correct implementation to meet those requirements. Enhance and develop software modules for complex system integrations across multiple systems to ensure good application scalability and performance. Assume hands-on responsibility to work on all areas of the application to develop features, do root cause analysis of issues, fix defects and provide recommendations for improvement. Develop and maintain relationships and communications with all functional groups such as business analysis, project management, QA, other development teams, operations and customer representatives. Essential Functions/Responsibilities Acquire product and design knowledge that will be necessary to develop enhancements and resolve issues. Provide solutions to customer requested enhancements and field reported software defects. Analyze, replicate and debug complex field software problems across the stack including middleware, database and web-based Java applications. Periodically monitor production AWR and SQL reports to proactively identify performance problems. Perform root cause analysis of database/SQL performance problems and implement solution. Prepare a data model for the application and keep it up-to-date as schema changes take place. Participate in software design reviews with developers to ensure that the architecture is scalable to meet long-term performance goals. Review all database schema changes made by application developers (tables, indexes, queries, triggers, synonyms). Make Java, Hibernate and SQL changes when required. Implement partitioning and data archival strategy to reduce database size. Analyze performance test results for each release and compare against baseline. Verify that components and processes are scalable, reliable and maintainable. Write unit tests. Consult with project managers, lead software engineers and quality engineers to research and design enhancements to core architecture or integrations.Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field preferred Experience Fifteen plus years of Internet and Java development in large scale applications Ten years combined experience as an Oracle performance engineer, data architect, application developer or DBA Knowledge/Skills Sound knowledge of database concepts and SQL Strong Java, Hibernate and SQL programming skills required Proven expertise in tuning Oracle 9i/10g/11g for extremely high transaction volume OLTP systems Excellent working knowledge of Oracle SQL Trace, TKPROF, Statspack and AWR reports Oracle 10g RAC preferred Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment Excellent communication and problem solving skills Must be organized, be able to work under pressure and be able to manage multiple simultaneous priorities CoreLogic offers an empowered work environment that encourages creativity, initiative and professional growth and provides a competitive salary and benefits package.
