We are seeking an IT-Accountant in our Los Angeles, California office.
Job Scope
Prepares, analyzes, and verifies financial and contractual documents in order to provide information to management. Follows established accounting policies and procedures. Position reports into the Information Technology department.
Essential Duties
May include but not limited to the following:
Prepare, analyze, and verify financial documents in order to provide information to management.
Prepare department budgets and monthly financial outlooks and identify variances
Prepare project budgets and identify variances
Manage costs and capital acquisition process
Analyze and interpret the financial information needed to make sound business decisions
Work on month end close of the department
Prove detail accounts to control accounts that affect the department
Prepare accruals, reconciliations, adjusting and correcting entries
Financial review and analysis of contracts and request for proposals
Interface with employees to resolve accounting variations, errors, and policy issues
Record and analyze the financial information of the organization to verify deviations from established policies and procedures
Interface with the auditors when necessary
Other financial and accounting functions as needed
Other tasks as needed
Requirements
Knowledge
Knowledge of accounting principles, techniques and financial analysis
Skills and Abilitites
Strong analytical, interpersonal, follow-through, attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong accounting and financial analysis skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with others
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Self starter and possess multi-tasking and time management skills
Ability to understand and work within a complex technology environment
Approaches work in a methodical fact-based manner
Ability to interact with technical staff across multiple systems and disciplines along with the ability to work with all levels within the organization, (staff to executive.)
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, plus 5 years of directly-related experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
