Job Description:

Prepare deliverables and products such as presentation materials, calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates related to heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems for commercial and governmental facilities.

Oversee and supervise assigned departmental personnel on projects and monitor individual technical performance, providing guidance and direction, as needed.

Perform Quality Assurance reviews of project deliverables. Implement and follow the Company’s quality assurance procedures.

Perform field investigation for incorporation of existing conditions into construction documents.

Perform construction administration duties, such as shop drawing review, RFI response, construction inspection, and respond to client questions.

Work independently and make technical mechanical decisions based on building code interpretation, company standard practice, and professional experience.

Support and enhance the Company’s marketing effort by preparing and presenting proposals.

Take necessary actions to ensure the project proceeds on schedule and within budget limitations Perform work which involves conventional engineering practice, but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.

Maintain effective liaison with the client as needed.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Professional Mechanical Engineer Certification.

10 + years consulting engineering experience with emphasis on HVAC system design of commercial, municipal, institutional, health care, and governmental facilities.

Candidates must be able to develop functional, comprehensive, HVAC system designs. Production of complete construction documents including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates. The successful candidate must be able to delegate work to junior level engineers and technicians and manage the complete mechanical scope of complex design projects from the conceptual phase through construction.

LEED Accredited Professional desired.

Healthcare and Federal project experience is desired.

AutoCAD and BIM skills desired.

Physically able to climb ladders and enter utility manholes, tunnels, and other mechanical equipment spaces.
