We are seeking a Structural Engineer to work with the Department of Transportation and Development along with other state agencies as well as municipalities, universities, and private clients. The structural engineering department in our New Orleans or Baton Rouge, office has immediate need for a staff engineer to develop innovative, cost-effective and sustainable solutions using state-of-the-industry technology and methods.
 
The position is for a Structural Staff Engineer who will be responsible for creating structural designs using state-of-the-industry software and assisting a team of engineers and technicians in the development of structural plans and specifications for highway, rail and pedestrian bridges, and also heavy civil and water and waste water facilities structures. 
 
Requirements:
 

  • The Successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, an EI or PE registration preferred.

  • Two to four years of relevant design experience is sought.

  • Must include 2 + experience in engineering design of bridges. Experience with design of pre-stressed concrete bridges and steel girder bridges is desired.

  • Ability to become a registered PE in Louisiana is a requirement.

  • Experience with LRFD design code is desired.

  • Must work well with others and be self motivated.

  • A working knowledge of Microstation CADD software is a plus.

  • Office location: Baton Rouge or New Orleans
