This first line management opportunity  located at AECOM’s Shared Service Center (SSC) in Glen Allen, VA. Role  will be responsible for the management of Project Accounting Specialists, the planning and management of departmental procedures and working closely with operations and other internal customers. You will also be responsible for resolving issues associated with project accounting, billing, client requests, and audits; and assisting project management.   Our Project Accounting Supervisor should be a self-motivated leader and a detail-oriented professional.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  • Have familiarity with all aspects of project accounting; will serve as technical resource for staff.

  • Provide effective leadership and training to less experienced staff

  • Work closely with staff to ensure all deadlines are met. 

  • Be able to manage a team of project accounting specialists to affect the best results for internal and external customers

  • Work with project management to provide suggestions on the most effective setup of projects in Oracle

  • Utilize metrics to improve performance of project accounting team and cash flow

  • Manage and ensure compliance with key control objectives and risk mitigation measures

  • Support internal and external auditors

  • Have ability to present and communicate initiatives, results, and analyses to multiple levels of management

 
REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two years of supervisory experience

  • Accounting/Finance Undergraduate degree or equivalent accounting experience

  • Two years of Oracle Project Accounting strongly preferred

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Candidate must work well with diverse teams and individuals.

  • Experience with Federal cost-reimbursable project accounting a plus.

  • Excellent MS Office Suite skills including Excel, Word, Outlook and Access

  • Proven analytical skills
